John’s most recent role prior to joining BG Consulting was in the Corporate and Structured Finance team at RBS where he had responsibility for originating, structuring and executing senior debt packages to support private equity-backed leveraged buyouts. He worked on the successful completion of a full range of leveraged buyout (LBO) deals including MBOs, MBIs, bolt-on acquisitions, Public to Privates and recapitalisations.

Prior to joining RBS John worked at Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) in the Client Training Group where he designed and delivered finance programmes for a range of corporate clients and credit programmes for several banking clients.

In 2003 John was seconded as a senior analyst in the corporate credit team at Royal Bank of Scotland with responsibilities including portfolio management and assigning credit grades to prospective and existing corporate clients. Following this secondment, John spent a year back with PWC in the corporate restructuring and recovery team.

John graduated from Nottingham University and joined Coopers & Lybrand in 1995 where his audit clients were predominantly in the leisure, media and retail sectors.
