Nick Antill
Consultant

Nick spent 16 years in the City as a financial analyst covering the oil and gas sector.

He was educated at Bristol University, graduating in Economics and Politics in 1979. Prior to entering the City, Nick worked for 5 years in the oil industry, in the downstream oil business.

From 1997 to 2000, he was responsible for Morgan Stanley’s European team, and personally produced most of its research on the integrated oil companies. The team published research on the integrated and independent European oil and gas companies for Morgan Stanley’s institutional investment customers worldwide. Over the period of Nick’s involvement, it focused particularly on the drivers to consolidation in the industry, and Morgan Stanley’s investment bankers were among the most actively involved in this widespread phenomenon.

In 1994, he published ‘Valuing Oil and Gas Companies’ co-authored with Rob Arnott, an introduction to the oil and gas industry aimed at financial professionals, with particular emphasis on measuring company performance and deriving stock market values.

Nick now combines financial training in equity valuation and corporate finance with oil and gas consultancy.

In 2005, he published ‘Company valuation under IFRS’ co-authored with Kenneth Lee, a comprehensive introduction to techniques for company forecasting and valuation, along with the interpretation of financial statements published under the International Financial Reporting Standards.
